+ How do I know if Coaching is right for me?
Chances are, if you've made it all the way to the FAQ page, you're probably a good candidate for Coaching. ;)
Ok seriously, the best way for you to find out if Coaching is right for you is to book a free clarity call with me. Completing the questionnaire and having a little one-on-one chat with me will clarify what goals we could work on together in a Coaching series. This gives us a chance to get to know each other better and figure out if we'd be a good fit.
Listen to your gut. If you're a little nervous but also excited about the idea of having a Coach in your life, you're onto something good!
+ Who is Coaching NOT for?
Coaching is best reserved for those who are willing to hold themselves accountable and work towards their goals every single week. If you're NOT ready to make big (hard) changes and overcome your limiting beliefs, this program is not for you. I don't want you to invest in something, only to fail because you're not ready.
+ What goals can Life Coaching help with?
Life Coaching is ideal for offering you sound, unbiased advice as you face major decisions about life changes. A Coach can help you clarify your goals and vision and map a course toward a more proactive path.
Coaching is also an excellent resource for people who have a clear vision and set of goals, but are having issues creating an actionable plan to make the vision a reality. Life Coaching is about proven results and strategies for success, the things that help you regain lost momentum.
Finally, for those who are ready to take a leap and tackle a new and intimidating challenge, step out of their comfort zone or just want an edge as they push themselves to the next level, Life Coaching is the answer.
+ Do I even need a Coach if I have supportive friends and family?
Let's pretend for a second that your life is like a football game. (yay! sports analogies!)
You are the Quarterback. I am the Coach. Your Friends and Family are like the Cheerleaders.
Friends and Family can be a wonderful support system when you're feeling stuck or need help making a decision. But, as caring as your loved ones can be, their emotional attachment to you and the pre-set dynamics of your relationships have a huge impact on the guidance you receive from them.
They come with too many biases, judgements, and beliefs to be the champions you need and deserve.
As your Coach, I have the ability to empower you with the accountability, insight and focus you need to achieve the high-level and consistent results required to make your dreams a reality.
I create a neutral, safe space for you to maximize your potential and win the game. Then I help you get there, one play at a time.
+ Is Coaching similar to counseling/therapy?
One of the most common misconceptions about Life Coaching is that it is therapy in disguise — or, worse yet, therapy from an unlicensed practitioner.
Therapy and Coaching are different in their approaches and in the relevant training required.
Basically, Coaches help clients who are NOT experiencing serious mental distress build a better future. As a Life Coach, I support ambitious achievers proactively get more done.
Whereas, therapists generally work with clients in distress and help them heal small and large emotional traumas and/or manage mental health conditions and dysfunctional mental patterns. Therapists are licensed to treat diagnosable disorders.
Coaches are not clinical diognosticians, and coaches do not focus directly on improving a clinically diagnosed condition, although coaching programs have promise as an adjunct to mental health interventions.
It is important to know these differences so you can decide which route is best for you.
BOTTOM LINE: Coaching is not to be used as a substitute for professional advice by legal, mental, medical or other qualified professionals. Clients are expected to seek independent professional guidance for such matters.
